Description
Dunham’s Alkyd Primer and Sealer Stain blocker product was developed to provide powerful stain blocking properties, blocks most odors and creates and excellent base coat for latex or oil based paint. Use on most interior surfaces including drywall, plaster, woodwork, paneling, wallpaper, masonry, brick, painted metal and properly prepared glossy surfaces. Not recommended for mold or mildew prone surfaces or floors.

Surface Preparation:
The surface to be coated should be clean, free of dirt, grease, oil, dust, wax, mildew and wallpaper paste. Glossy surfaces must be dulled by sanding prior to priming. Sanding or removal of paint containing lead is hazardous. Mold or mildew covered surfaces should be washed with a mildew remover: Rinse with water and allow drying before priming. On Masonry, brick, stucco and plaster Dunham's Oil Based Primer may be used on clean, dry aged masonry surfaces that have cured at least 3 months. Clean smoke damaged surfaces thoroughly before priming.
Application:
Stir thoroughly with lifting motion until uniform mixture is obtained. Stir occasionally during use. DO NOT THIN. Apply with brush, roller or sprayer. Prime the entire surface to ensure a uniform appearance of the topcoat. After priming, test for bleed-through by applying the top coat to a small area. If the stain bleeds through the top coat, apply a second coat of primer and test again before top coating the entire surface. If bleeding continues a longer dry time is needed before top coating.
Coverage:
This will cover 300-400 sq. ft. (27.9-37.2 sq. meters) gallons depending on porosity and texture of surface and application method. Uniformity of color is dependent on batch consistency.
Drying Time:
This product will dry to touch in 60 minutes and can be recoated, or top coated in two hours with latex or oil based paint. Application at high humidity low temperatures or poor ventilation will affect dry time.
Cleanup:
Clean equipment and paint splatters with mineral spirits. If spilled, contain material and remove with an inert absorbent. Dispose of contaminated, absorbent, container and unused product in accordance with all current federal and state and local regulations.
Caution:
If affected by inhalation of vapors or spray mist, remove to fresh air. In case of eye contact, flush immediately with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and call a physician; for skin contact, wash thoroughly with soap and water. In case of ingestion-DO NOT INDUCE VOMITTING, get professional medical help immediately. IN CASE OF FIRE: Use Foam, CO (2) dry chemical or water fog. IN CASE OF SPILL: Absorb with inert material and dispose of as specified under "CLEAN UP"

Eye watering, headaches, nausea, dizziness and loss of coordination are signs that solvent levels are too high. Intentional misuse by deliberately concentrating and inhaling the contents may be harmful or fatal. Keep away for heat, spark and flame. VAPORS MAY CAUSE FLASH FIRE. Use only with adequate ventilation. Do not breathe vapors, spray mist or sanding suds. Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged or repeated contact with skin. Wear eye protection and gloves. To avoid breathing vapors or spray mist, open window and doors or use other means to ensure fresh air entry during application and drying. If you experience eye watering, headaches or dizziness, increase fresh air of ear a properly fitted Vapor/particulate respirators approved by NIOSH for use with paints or leave the area. In all cases follow respirator manufacturer's directions for respirator use. Close container after each use. Wash thoroughly after handling and before smoking and eating. To avoid spontaneous combustion during temporary storage soak soiled rags and waste immediately after use in a closed, water filled metal container.
